I believe the others are all in Arabic as well, but haven't gotten around to decıphering them.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13443434334539569385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098687575127151279.post-2983381742873517362010-10-03T03:09:01.911-07:002010-10-03T03:09:01.911-07:00Brother Hamid,
I have not taken any guıded tours,...Brother Hamid,<br /><br />I have not taken any guıded tours, although I have overhead guides speaking, so I never asked them any questions, but you have asked a very good one. I can't make out any more than 'Allah,' but I will try enlarging the photos and searching the net.<br /><br />The text is probably in the Arabic language, but not necessarily. The Ottomans wrote their older version of the Turkish language in Arabic script up until the revolution in 1923. On my first trip to Istanbul, I assumed I couldn't make any sense of the inscriptions on Ottoman tombstones etc. because the calligraphy is complicated and my Arabic wasn't very good, but in fact it was because I was trying to decipher Turkish words written in Arabic script.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13443434334539569385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098687575127151279.post-26700865914481487052010-10-02T04:25:50.176-07:002010-10-02T04:25:50.176-07:00Not offended sis.
